Pet Flaps Installation in Doors

Installation

While you can fit a cat flap to a uPVC or composite front or back door yourself it requires some heavy tools and there’s an easier, safer, and more convenient way to get the job done. We can install a PetSafe SureFlap or Pet Tek cat flap in any door which has a solid panel or in a glazed sealed unit. Pet Flaps are available in white, grey, woodgrain, and clear.

Doors We Install Into:

  • Metal Doors
  • uPVC Door Panels
  • Wooden Doors
  • Aluminum and Metal Skinned Doors
  • Composite Doors
  • Sliding Patio Doors
  • French Doors

We can install straight into most composite doors and metal-skinned doors however no need to worry if this isn’t an option. If your door has modern security we can use a reinforced uPVC panel to install your pet flap into and then install this in your door for a clean look and secure installation.

Panel Door Installation

cat flap back door uPVC panelWe can install a cat or dog flap into a flat reinforced uPVC panel and then install this into the bottom half of your door this is only required if you have a split section door.  As seen on the right

There are 3 benefits:
  1. The cost of a UPVC panel is less than a new double-glazed unit.
  2. It can be done on the same day, as we bring a panel and cut it to fit your door. You don’t have to wait another week like you would to get a new piece of glass cut.
  3. If you ever move and your new home has a lower paneled door, the panel may be cut again to fit. and the old panel can be replaced in your old door seamlessly.

Composite and Metal Skinned Doors

If you wish to install a cat or dog flap into your Composite or Aluminiumum skinned door it requires a hole to be put through. Although it is stated by Cat Flap companies such as PetSafe that you can install your catflap yourself it is tricky and could be an expensive mistake. If you cut the hole wrong you could create a draft that will let heat out reducing the energy efficiency of your home. This is why we recommend leaving it to the professionals with all the tools.

They will cut a hole in your door with a pre-made stencil that perfectly fits a cat flap and then will install the cat flap on both sides ensuring its level and finally sealing around your door to make it air and water tight.

Glass Installation - Sliding and French Doors

If you wish to get a dog or cat flap for your pet, but don’t want to damage your home or door then look no further.

These flaps installed into your glass door make it possible for our dogs and cats to easily go in and out of the house as they please without having to try and get the attention of someone. In other words, you are not going to be frequently hassled by your pets when they feel like going out. This is indeed truly important. Installing a dog or cat flap into your double glazing can also allow your pet to be left home alone for longer periods of time. Allowing your pets to make the most of your home when you aren’t around.

We can fit any cat flap or small dog door into a glass unit that can be then installed into your window, door, or patio/ french door. We will measure the size of the glass unit already installed in your home and have a custom replica be made with a hole pre-cut to install your cat flap. This will take about a week then we will come and install it for you at your earliest convenience.

Choosing Your Flap

Choosing the right cat or dog flap for your home can be difficult, there are many options out there. There are many things you have to consider which include; the type of flap, size of flap, security, and the type of door the flap is being installed into.

Although many cat and dog flaps state that DIY installation is possible, don’t go drilling holes into your door without any form of direction, as any slight damage can cause misting of your glass and air entering into your home.

Depending on the size of pet you have we will advise you on the correct sort of pet flap if you wish to see the products we use look at cat flaps or dog flaps.
